If you feel you’re already doing *all the things* but not seeing progress, have you considered small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)?What if the excessive gas and bloat was down to microbes fermenting in your small intestine?You might have tried lots of different supplements and diets before, but honestly, unless you test for SIBO you won’t know whether your bloating is due to excessive bacteria.In people who have SIBO, microbes ferment the food you eat, causing bloating and gas. Erratic eating patterns can cause bloating, gas, and cramps, and make it hard to meet your nutrition targets for fruit & veg, protein etc.πŸ’₯ Gluten-free doesn’t always mean IBS-friendly
GF foods can be higher in sugar, contain high FODMAP ingredients like inulin, and have less fibre.πŸ’₯ That probiotic you picked up in Boots probably isn’t doing anything
Taking random strains of live bacteria might even make things worse.πŸ’₯ Until you have a plan, you will continue to cut more foods out.
Feeling scared about meals leads to more eliminations. You don’t want to end up on just 5 foods, it’s tough down there.πŸ’₯ Fibre isn’t the enemy – you just haven’t found the right type (yet)
Most people need a mix of fibres, but it IS possible to eat more when you know how to balance bulk forming / gel forming and fermentable fibresπŸ’₯ If you’re not going to bed til 12 and getting up at 6.30 you aren’t getting enough sleep
Sleep isn’t just for not feeling tired. It’s also feeling less anxious, less pain, and restoring and healing.πŸ’₯ You might not feel like eating breakfast, but you should be doing it
Believe me, the majority of my clients would get away without eating breakfast if they could, but I get nearly everyone eating in the morning for better, more regular bowel movements and more energy.πŸ’₯ Until you understand the timing of digestion you’ll get more confused about triggers
