What to expect with the 10 Day IBS Reset

Thank you for buying the 10 Day IBS Reset – I’m so looking forward to sharing all the IBS reset principles, tips and gut health support with you over the next ten days.

Will I get any side effects?

As you’re preparing to start you might feel a bit worried about how you’ll feel whilst making changes.

Will you be hungry?

Will you like the food?

What happens if you have a crisis at home or work, how will you cope?

Whenever you change your diet you may experience some changes in your body. Below you’ll find a breakdown of some of the things you may experience.

How will I feel on the 10 Day IBS Reset?

Most previous participants have reported feeling great during the 10 Day IBS Reset. It’s not a diet or detox, so there are no ‘detox’ symptoms to go through.

Many people have identified symptoms they weren’t expecting in a week including:

  • Slept better
  • Less bloating by end of the week
  • Skin conditions improved
  • Felt more energy

And some other less welcome possibilities (with what to do about it):

  • Headaches – if you don’t eat enough food or drink enough water you may experience headaches, this is true of any time, not just in this week. I suggest trying to avoid snacks in between meals but if this is making you feel ill then have a nutritious snack like a handful of nuts and an apple, or some nut butter on a few oat cakes.
  • I suggest you can include 1-2 cups of tea or coffee per day if your normally already do this. Cut down slowly if you drink a lot more than this to start. Drink lots of water as well to stay hydrated.

  • Gurgling tummy – when we add more fibre into our digestion the microbes change. The good ones, we generally all need more of, love fibre. So when they are jostling for position to create new colonies in your gut, sometimes there is a bit more gurgling for a few days. It should settle down quickly.
  • Remember to drink water and allow your digestion time to rest by not snacking in between meals.
What if I feel dizzy during the IBS Reset?

Do ensure you’re eating enough food at each meal. This isn’t a diet to restrict quantities, it’s about adding good food in rather than restricting.

Add more protein to each meal if you feel hungry in between meals.

Keep up your fluids, drink water and aim for 8 glasses a day, herb teas can count towards this. Peppermint tea can help with nausea, or grated ginger in warm water.

It’s possible you may feel a bit odd if you’ve been used to high levels of sugar in your diet, and you suddently stop. Perhaps aim to include some fruit after each meal to ensure you’re getting enough.

The 7 Day Gut Reset is not a paleo / low carb diet, it’s about adding in goodness and fruit can help add essential vitamins and minerals.

What if I am hungry during the IBS Reset?

If you’re hungry it probably means you’re not eating enough food. (see above about feeling dizzy). This isn’t a diet to restrict quantities, it’s about adding good food in rather than restricting.

Add more protein to each meal if you feel hungry in between meals.

Sometimes we eat because we’re actually thirsty so ensure you’re drinking enough liquid as well. Peppermint tea can help with nausea, or grated ginger in warm water.

If you need a snack between meals aim to include something which has nutritional benefits. This could be an apple and a small handful of nuts, a plain yoghurt, or some nut butter on an oat cake.
