You don’t have to keep struggling in silence

Does your stomach feel heavy and hard, like a brick sitting there long after you’ve eaten?

Do you sometimes feel like food just gets stuck inside you, or rushes through so fast you barely make it to the loo?

Maybe your tummy feels sore, tight, and uncomfortable by the evening, even if you’ve only eaten a small amount.

These kinds of symptoms can leave you drained, anxious about food, and totally fed up with guessing what’s going on.

On this page, you’ll find the most common digestive symptoms I see in my online gut health clinic.

Each symptom below links out to a guide where you’ll learn what might be behind the symptom, and what can help.

Don’t let your gut rule your life

When your digestion isn’t working properly, it’s not just about stomach discomfort.

You might avoid social events because you’re worried about bloating or rushing to the toilet.

You may skip meals or certain foods you love, feeling like nothing is safe to eat. Everyday life can feel drained and heavy, and it can be hard to have the energy or confidence to do the things you enjoy.

The good news is nutrition and lifestyle changes can make a real difference.

By understanding your symptoms, we can start to uncover whether they’re linked to conditions like IBS, SIBO, or food intolerances.

Common digestive symptoms

Bloating

Probably the most common symptom in people I work with. If you’re undoing your trousers by 4pm every day this page is for you.

Constipation

Straining, passing small hard lumps, or not pooing for days at a time. Constipation can leave you feeling sluggish and low in energy.

Diarrhoea

Frequent, urgent trips to the toilet that feel out of control. Food seems to move straight through you, leaving you drained and anxious.

Gas

Smelly farts can leave you feeling embarrassed and scared to socialise. You might be avoiding food to keep the gas at bay.

Stomach pains

Waking in the night with cramps, or struggling to exercise because your gut is sensitive and sore.
