Radishes are very undervalued little gems. If you don't know what to do with them here is a great way to add diversity to your diet.

1. Mix 2 tbsp rice vinegar or red wine vinegar with 1 tsp sugar and a pinch of salt
2. Finely slice a bunch using a peeler (bit fiddly!)🤪
3. Leave for 10 mins and then serve as a side with falafel, meat or fish.

Radishes are a source of fibre and vitamin C but they may also help to stimulate digestive juices and aid digestion.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in fibre which help our digestion as we naturally slow down to enter winter. They also contain nutrients which support our immune system as we get into colder weather. I was chatting to @heatherkeatshealthandfitness
About this on Friday. Eating seasonally is also good for the soil, and supporting diversity in our gut ecology, as well as the land.

Eat lots of stewed fruits, root vegetables and greens to meet your nutritional needs this autumn.

Include warming spices too like cinnamon, turmeric, pepper, garlic and ginger.

Bread bread bread! We do love a lot of it in the UK.

In fact 99.8% of British households buy bread, and the equivalent of nearly 11 million loaves are sold each day.😮

I don't want to demonise 😈 bread, because I love it, and I eat it.

BUT.... we can rely on one food type too much. I help my clients add variety and diversity to their diet, and move to eat a broader set of foods to improve their health.

😴 There is a proportion of people who will genetically have a pre disposition towards a latest sleeping time. Humans evolved to live in groups where some people slept whilst others took turns to watch for predators.

😴 So you may have a late chronotype. But you can still influence the hour at which you sleep.

There is a lot we can do through lifestyle exercise diet and our habits that make a big difference in when we can fall asleep.

Focus on:
🦉 Getting as much daylight as you can in the daytime
🦉 Staying active during the day
🦉 Getting a dark bedroom
🦉 Avoiding caffeine in the afternoon
🦉 Winding down in the evening and switching off the To Do list
🦉 Don't eat too late at night

Restrictive Diets Are Hard To Follow - As soon as you’re told you can’t have something, you want it more.

Psychologically we want those foods, and we think about them even more when we’re told they are forbidden.🚫

🍚When people go sugar free they can only think about sugar.
🍷Or if they say I’m giving up alcohol, you really keep thinking about how you’re NOT having a glass of wine this Friday.

So it’s often a lot healthier in terms of mindset to allow ourselves to eat some of the food that we enjoy.

But in moderation and as part of a balanced diet.
